I'd like to start off by saying I have no delusions of grander in regards to this blog. My wife introduced me to blogspot initially and she uses it for a great place to update the world about our family. My intentions with this forum is simply a place to put my thoughts and garner responses from as many people as possible. I am a senior at UNLV majoring in Political Science. Politics will be the major area of debate amongst my posts. I want it to be understood that I will be posting opinions in regards to political life, but I will occasionally venture off into many other avenues of life. This will be my rant - so to speak. And with that, lets begin!

No wonder the American people are so darn depressed. Between this kind of blogging, the 24 hour Fox news, the crazy right wing ranting and raving and the moaning and whinging from the left, it is like a huge toxic cloud is hanging over all of us. I am tending more and more away from all political news, televised, print and digital. More music on the radio, direct to the cartoons in the local paper (not even a stop at the "Police Blotter), teaching my ESL students, reading more and more good books.... Much healthier!
